The Tagalog word maganda (MA GAN DAH) translates to beauty or beautiful, which beautifully reflects the brand’s essence, making it more than just a name—it's a statement. Stephanie envisioned creating a brand that not only honors her rich heritage and ethnicity but also resonates with her vibrant spirit, ultimately encompassing all things that are truly beautiful in the world around us.
Stephanie Brown, founder & designer of House of Maganda, truly enjoys creating one-of-a-kind custom gowns that are thoughtfully tailored to reflect a bride’s unique personality and vision for her momentous special day.
In 2017, she embarked on an exciting journey by starting her own brand, which allowed her to launch her dream of creating one-of-a-kind designs for the modern bride. Stephanie’s designs are meticulously crafted for the modern woman, drawing deep inspiration from the diverse cultures and rich experiences that have significantly shaped who she is both as an individual and as a designer. As a proud US Army Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom VII, Stephanie’s heartfelt mission is to spread beauty and joy through her stunning designs, ensuring that each piece carries a meaningful message.
After opening the House of Maganda Atelier, in the charming and picturesque Charleston French Quarter, Stephanie dedicated her atelier to her husband, Shannon Brown, SFC, U.S. Army, Retired after being called home September 16th, 2021.
